LOS ANGELES – Mayor Bass today signed her fourth Executive Directive to urgently identify burdensome processes and fees that impede small business creation, development and growth in Los Angeles.

Inside Safe is a new, citywide, voluntary, proactive housing-led strategy to bring people inside from tents and encampments, and to prevent encampments from returning. It is one feature in a comprehensive strategy to confront the homelessness crisis.

LOS ANGELES – U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra joined Mayor Bass in Los Angeles yesterday to deepen the partnership with the federal government and highlight the need to include substance abuse and mental health treatments when addressing homelessness. LOS ANGELES –  Los Angeles was selected today to be one of five cities to enter in a historic partnership with the White House and the U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness (USICH). The new initiative is called ALL INside, a first-of-its kind initiative to address unsheltered homelessness all across the country.

LOS ANGELES – Mayor Karen Bass today released a letter detailing the interdepartmental work completed to identify public lands suitable for interim and permanent housing development. The report back also lays out next steps and timelines for creating a new paradigm for scaling up development of City lands to solve the homelessness and affordable housing crisis.

LOS ANGELES – Mayor Karen Bass and Councilwoman Katy Yaroslavsky announced today that an Inside Safe operation is underway on San Vicente Boulevard between Wilshire Boulevard and La Cienega Boulevard. Inside Safe is a new, citywide, proactive housing-led strategy to bring people inside from tents and encampments, and to prevent encampments from returning. In 100 days, the program brought more than 1,000 Angelenos inside. The Mayor’s proposed budget includes $250 million to scale the program citywide.  

LOS ANGELES – Mayor Karen Bass today sent the following letter regarding the dangerous condition of hundreds of LADWP utility poles. The letter calls on LADWP to act swiftly to ensure public awareness about remaining poles in need of repair and to urgently address necessary repairs. The Mayor also called for LADWP to ensure that the safety of the public and of LADWP workers is the Department’s highest priority.
