LOS ANGELES – Mayor Bass today issued the following statement on the 2023 Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count results conducted by the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA):
“The data gathered in January shows that the homelessness crisis continues, and we need to continue with the perspective that this is an emergency. The challenge before us is vast, but we will continue to work with urgency to bring Angelenos inside but also to protect Angelenos from falling into homelessness. If we don’t do both, we will continue this cycle. I want to thank Dr. Adams Kellum and the LAHSA team for providing this assessment. We must sustain our momentum by locking arms with leaders at every level of government and across the private sector as we confront this crisis as the emergency that it is. Lives depend on it.”
