Mayor Bass and Local Leaders to Hold Press Conference Outlining Support Efforts for

Friday’s Championship Parade

Mayor Bass tonight issued the following statement:

“Tonight, we showed the world that Los Angeles is made of champions. On behalf of our entire city, I want to express our pride and heartfelt congratulations to the Dodgers – to the players and their families, the coaches, the trainers, the front office, and everyone who had a hand in making history tonight. Every night, each of you exemplified the very best of our city and put greatness on display.

“As we celebrate this achievement tonight and in the coming days, violence will not be tolerated. LAPD is currently on tactical alert and has activated a strategic plan to protect communities and businesses, which includes proactive deployment and a coordinated strategy with regional partners to ensure that all Angelenos are able to celebrate safely.

“The Dodgers have announced two celebration opportunities this coming Friday – a ticketed event at Dodger Stadium and a parade in Downtown Los Angeles. Tomorrow morning, City officials will hold a press conference to detail plans to support these celebrations in ways to keep Angelenos safe, alleviate traffic and ensure that we welcome the Dodgers back home in style. This will be a celebration fitting for our championship team and our dedicated fans. I look forward to seeing everyone there.”

LOS ANGELES MARKS DODGER WIN:

Los Angeles City Hall and the “D” on the Hollywood Sign are lit “Dodger Blue” tonight to celebrate the win. All of Los Angeles shines with pride for this Dodgers win.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS THIS EVENING:

LAPD is currently on tactical alert. Prior to Game 5, the City’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) was activated to a Level 3 with Emergency Management Department personnel staffing the EOC in person and and will remain at that level to coordinate response with key departments. The LAPD has activated four Command Posts throughout the city to help promote safety following the game. The Mayor’s Office of Public Safety and the Emergency Management Department are closely monitoring operations.

INFORMATION REGARDING UPCOMING CHAMPIONSHIP CELEBRATIONS:

The Dodgers have shared that the parade is scheduled to begin at 11:00 AM at Gloria Molina Grand Park on Spring Street in front of Los Angeles City Hall. Mayor Karen Bass will officially kick off the parade, which will then continue on a 45-minute route from 1st Street to Grand Avenue to 5th Street, culminating at the intersection of 5th and Flower Streets, with members of the Dodgers traveling atop double-decker buses.

Following the parade, the Dodgers announced a special ticketed event at Dodger Stadium, which will begin at approximately 12:15 p.m. For fans attending, parking gates will open at 8:30 AM and stadium entry gates will open at 9:00 AM. Food and merchandise will be available for purchase. In-stadium entertainment, including coverage of the parade on DodgerVision scoreboards, will precede the arrival of the team. All Dodger Stadium guidelines and rules will apply to this event, including the reminder not to bring in signs, bags or any other items that aren’t permitted under our policies. Angelenos are advised by the Dodgers that there will not be time to commute between the events.
