LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass today issued the following statement:
“Today the United States of America lost a giant. I had the absolute honor of serving with Chairwoman Eddie Bernice Johnson for 12 years in Congress, during which I benefited from her advice, wisdom and guidance. The advancements she led as Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus and a trailblazer and pioneer in the United States House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology helped propel our country as a leader of industry and development. The Eddie Bernice Johnson Union Station in Dallas stands as a testament to her tireless work to better the lives of all Texans in the Dallas area. She will be truly missed. My thoughts are with her friends and family during this difficult time.”
