LOS ANGELES – Mayor Karen Bass announced today that resources are available for Downtown businesses impacted by the consequences of the White House’s chaotic actions in Los Angeles. Staff from the offices of Mayor Bass, Councilmember Ysabel Jurado and city departments will host webinars to make resources and information available. The first webinar is today, Friday, June 13 at 1:00 PM in English, Spanish and Korean – RSVP here.

“For a week now, our city has been dealing with the fallout driven by reckless raids of Home Depot parking lots and the activation of federalized troops,” Mayor Bass said. “It’s clear that they have no policy or plan but to create chaos in our city. In contrast, the city is prepared to deliver for Downtown businesses who have been impacted.”

"Our local businesses are the backbone of Downtown LA, and my office is committed to supporting them through every challenge. I’m happy to partner in hosting this webinar to help impacted businesses access vital resources, while we continue to stand proudly with our immigrant communities and peaceful demonstrators who make Los Angeles vibrant and strong," said Councilmember Ysabel Jurado, Council District 14.

Downtown LA impacted businesses are encouraged to join the virtual webinars for assistance with:

  • Requesting business services, technical assistance, graffiti removal and other facility restoration.
  • Accessing legal services for small businesses and know your rights information.
  • Securing employment, staffing support and relief.
  • Seeking state and federal funding and relief.

Mayor Bass issued a curfew on Wednesday to stop bad actors who do not support the immigrant community and have committed acts of vandalism, violence and looting. The curfew remains in place at night from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following day. For more information on the curfew guidance, click here. In addition to the curfew, Mayor Bass noted that hundreds of officers from police and sheriffs departments from across the region and state are working alongside LAPD through a unified command structure.
