LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass announced Inside Safe operations in Woodland Hills and Beverly Grove, which brought more than 30 Angelenos inside. The Woodland Hills encampment was located in front of the historic Warner Center Park, which includes Lou Bredlow Pavilion – a community fixture known for hosting free concerts, movie screenings, and other local events. The two Beverly Grove encampments were situated among businesses, an assisted living facility, a place of worship, and local residences. Photos and B-roll of the operations available here.
“Public spaces where neighbors gather exemplify the spirit of our city coming together,” said Mayor Bass. “By connecting people living on the streets or in parks with secure housing and supportive services, we ensure the health and wellbeing of all residents and the community as a whole.”
“Every unhoused person we get off the streets and into interim housing and services is a step forward, and I’m grateful to all our partners for their efforts,” said Councilmember Blumenfield. “I appreciate the Mayor’s continued efforts to help address homelessness in this area, and it’s encouraging to see resources come again to this Inside Safe location.”
“The operation in Beverly Grove shows what’s possible when we focus on meaningful housing solutions,” said Councilmember Katy Yaroslavsky. “This operation will make a significant difference in the lives of those coming inside and those living in the surrounding community.”
Since the beginning of this year, more than 500 Angelenos have come inside. Nearly 100 encampments have been resolved since the beginning of the program.
Tent encampments have come down in every council district, and thousands more Angelenos came inside last year than in 2022 thanks to action locking arms with the City Council, County and LAHSA. Mayor Bass has worked to improve services provided for unhoused Angelenos coming inside and has also been vocal about the need to make homelessness programs more cost effective as this urgent work continues.
