LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass today congratulated Mayor James T. Butts and joined in the exciting announcement that the 2027 Super Bowl LXI will be hosted at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, with festivities and fan engagement to be held throughout the City of Los Angeles. This announcement adds to the exciting lineup of world class events coming to the Los Angeles region in the coming years, including the 2024 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball West Region Championship, 2026 U.S. Women’s Open Championship, FIFA World Cup 26™, and the 2028 Olympic & Paralympic Games.
“The Los Angeles region continues to attract world-renowned events and we look forward to yet again hosting the Super Bowl,” said Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass. “I want to congratulate Inglewood Mayor James Butts on recently hosting a successful Super Bowl and for the job he has done to transform the city. I know our entire region looks forward to watching the Rams win the Super Bowl at home, again.”

The Mayor delivered her remarks at The Rose Venice, which used to have more than 100 unhoused Angelenos sleeping on sidewalks nearby. The area has been without that encampment for the past year thanks to a successful Inside Safe operation.
In the evening, Mayor Karen Bass continued to engage Angelenos by hosting her second telephone town hall to share her accomplishments during her first year in office and how she continues to work to make Los Angeles stronger, healthier, happier and safer for all. On Friday, Mayor Bass concluded her “Locking Arms and Delivering for Los Angeles Tour” by welcoming President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden to Los Angeles. She criss-crossed the City, highlighting efforts to confront the homelessness crisis, make Los Angeles safer, support businesses, build a greener L.A., and improve our city services.
